Christian Feminist Perspectives

Under the able leadership of Rev. Karen Appleby, Director of Ministries at Federated, Christian Feminist Perspectives created the following Vision Statement:

Federated Christian Feminists share a vision of spiritual growth and expression. We are involved in intentional, honest spiritual exploration including challenging theological reading and discussion. We are a catalyst to the church as we nurture a theological and liturgical inclusive awareness.

We keep our focus on women’s issues and advocate for women locally and globally. We find our strength in unity which allows us to reach out in smaller action groups.

As an inclusive group, we are open to women and men of all ages, ethnic origins and life situations. We are visible and respected in the church community.

In the light of this Vision, Christian Feminists created the following Mission Statement:

The mission of Christian Feminist Perspectives is to promote spiritual growth for self, family, group, church and community. Our activities include study, discussion, programs, and speakers which focus on women’s issues.

We have set the following goals for 2006 - 2008. these goals are listed in order of priority.
1 - read and discuss books of our choice
2 - continue our support of Women’s Sunday
3 - develop ways to support each other within the group
4 - work with the pastor to incorporate inclusive awareness in the
     worship service
5 - participate in outreach programs focusing on women
6 - raise $250 a year to help with programs such as Women’s Sunday
7 - invite two guest Speakers
