Federated Community Church has a strong music program; it is very vital at this time in singing and ringing God’s praise.
The Chancel Choir consists of 20 to 30 members, ranging in age from high school and college students to those with the gray hair of wisdom. Together, they have a good time at rehearsals from 7:15 p.m. to 8:15 p.m. each Thursday night throughout the year. Their performances in worship are primarily on Sundays in the 11:00 a.m. service. Solos and ensembles are sometimes presented at either the 8:30 a.m. or 11:00 a.m. service. Major works are often performed for both the Christmas and Easter season. Able accompaniment for both choir and congregational singing, as well as fine service music, is provided by the church organist and church pianist.
The Celebration Singers are a smaller ensemble that perform several times each month in the 8:30 a.m. worship hour. Their music tends to be more contemporary in nature, and accompaniment is often guitar and/or piano. Rehearsals are currently on Sunday evenings from 6:30 - 7:30 p.m.
Federated Community Church also has an English Handbell choir. They ring five octaves of Schulmerich handbells and three octaves of Malmark handchimes. The Bell Choir rehearses on Thursday evenings starting at 6:00 p.m. They participate in Sunday morning worship once a month during the school year.
The Children’s Choir rehearses each Sunday morning from 9:45 a.m. - 10:00 a.m. during the school year. Ranging in age from three-year-olds to twelve-year-olds, they are a spirited and joyous group. Performances are usually once a month in the 11:00 a.m. worship hour.
The Youth Praise Band continues to be a wonderful work-in-progress. As the members grow, they become a better and better ensemble lending to God’s praise.
